USC Online Degree Programs for International Students

HOW TO APPLY

International students must be admitted into a degree program in order to begin classes.

Below are guidelines on how to apply for admission to the University of Southern California.

In order to evaluate any application for admission, application materials must be submitted by the deadlines listed:

 

June 15th    Fall admission

October 1st    Spring admission

February 15th     Summer admission*

 

*Not all degree programs offer Summer admission, please check individual degree program deadlines by clicking here.

NOTE: It is strongly encouraged that international applicants submit application materials early (ex: March for Fall, July for Spring, and December for Summer) to allow time for processing.

Applicants should submit the following:

Submit directly to the USC Office of Admission (University of Southern California, Office of Admission, University Park Campus, Los Angeles, CA 90089-0911):

  • Graduate application form

  • International students must submit the International Student Confidential Financial Statement/Verification of Funds form included in the graduate application.

  • Official Transcript(s)

  • General GRE scores (no older than 5 years)

  • TOEFL scores (required for international students)


Submit directly to the department (if required):

  • Statement of Purpose
    The statement of purpose should describe succinctly your reasons for applying to the proposed program at the Viterbi School of Engineering, your preparation for this field of study, study interests, future career plans, and other aspects of your background and interests which may aid the admissions committee in evaluating your aptitude and motivation for graduate study.


  • Two Letters of Recommendation
    Letters of recommendation should be from faculty or others (supervisors, professional colleagues, etc.) qualified to evaluate your potential for graduate study.  They should be sealed and written on official letterhead.
